Pallet Flow racking is designed for a First In First Out (FIFO) application where product rotation is mandatory. The pallets are positioned into individual lanes with rollers and are loaded into the system from one side with the discharge on the other side. Storage capability per lane varies and depends on the size of the pallets, clear height available and the forklift equipment being used. Brakes are positioned throughout the lane to ensure the pallet flows safely with a stop at the end. When the first pallet is removed, the remaining pallets in the lane will index forward always positioning the next pallet in the pick face location.
This system not only creates high-density storage but increases efficiency by having all pick faces in one area and reducing travel time picking orders. This system is ideal for maximizing floor space.
